Our Experience with Google Classroom

This year we have been using Google Classroom a lot! As the grade 8 teacher, I have all of my students using the platform. I have received mostly positive feedback from the students. During the early weeks of using Google Classroom I got a little bit of push back from the kids. I think it was "growing pains" because the students were used to using a different on-line platform, Edmodo, last year.

I would like to know how you, whether teacher or student, utilize the platform. Also, please explain why you like or dislike the classroom in the cloud!

  3. I like Google Classroom most of the time, I think it is annoying sometimes tho because, you can not use it on your device and it takes much longer to check what we have for homework, rather then just going on to the Edmodo app.

  4. I like Google classroom because the teacher can put geography in one folder and science homework in a another folder. This makes it really easy. Then an another program called edmodo, because you have to scroll through you're work. That you did to find the teachers post's

  6. I don't like Google classroom because its to hard to follower all my stuff in it. I found that Google classroom has to much thing going on in the website. the only thing I like about Google classroom is that you can choose what subject you want to pick when you log in. another thing is when you post a assignment you got to open up a Google doc and after you done work you got to save it and post it to Google drive.

  9. Great posts, I like that you are backing your thoughts up with real world examples. Your next step is to make a wish, or wish list, that will enhance the Google Classroom experience for you.

    "I wish that Google Classroom..."

  10. I wish Google classroom had a easier way to keep you stuff In order like when you open a assignment you don't go right to Google doc and you can just stay on Google classroom. and do the work on there so you don't open up a lot of tabs and you just have a tab open to do it in.

  13. I like Edmoto and Google classroom about the same.I like the simplicity of Edmoto but it is harder to post at Assignments in. I dislike how long it takes to get into Google classroom but when you are in Google classroom it is quicker and easier to post assignments.A combination of Edmoto and Google classroom would be the best.

  15. I wish that Google classroom had punctuation app that did your editing for you so you wouldn't have to do it. I wish that google classroom had a built-in sketch pad, so if you are given a assignment. That you had to sketch something out on paper you could just do it right on Google classroom.

  16. Hi there. When you are at your google classroom home page in safari, try clicking the up arrow to the left of the address and choose "Add to Home Page". This will create an icon on your iPad main page that acts just like an app - takes you right to your google classroom page.
